The Basics

When do you see clients?

Weekdays from 10am to 5pm and selected evenings until 7pm.

What forms of insurance do you accept?

I am a preferred provider (in-network) for:

  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and associated plans
  • PHCS/Multiplan
What if you do not accept my insurance plan?

I am considered “out-of-network” for all other plans.  Most plans now offer an Out-of-Network benefit where they reimburse anywhere from 40-60% of “allowable” fees.  In this case, you would pay upfront for your sessions and then get reimbursed by your insurance company.  In most cases I will do the filing for you. To get the specifics, call the customer service number on the back your your insurance card.

What are your fees?

For the initial session my fee is $ 135.  Regular individual sessions are 45-50 minutes and are $110 while couple sessions last between 50-55 minutes and are $125.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, checks, Visa, and Mastercard

What is your cancelation policy?

I charge the full session fee for missed sessions or cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice.  Insurance plans will not reimburse for missed sessions.  This fee may be waived for emergencies.

For New Clients

What can I expect from the first few sessions?

I consider the first two or three sessions to be part of the assessment process.  After going over the business end of things I ask clients to talk about what brings them in, then we begin to talk about potential goals and what I propose for treatment.  The assessment also includes assessing mental health, stregnths, resources, and taking a family history.  It  is the time where we begin to build a working relationship and decide whether or not we will be a good fit working together.

How should I prepare for my first session?

Please download, print and complete the Client Information Form, Client Questionnaire and Client-Therapist Agreement forms.
